Hey guys... My Dad has been wanting a top-down view of tardiscraft for a while now for easier navigation and to see what people have built. I found a program, "Tectonicus", that lets you render the word like Google Maps - you can drag around, zoom in, see signs that have (for example) =========== BUYING WHEAT 5 COAL EACH =========== Because it has "=" (A 'special character' set in the program) it can be seen on the world map. The program looks cool because you can see what people have built - both first person AND top down/at an angle. - So if Aunt/Ven make that flat pixel art, you could see it much better) The only issue I see with it is that the file it creates that can be uploaded to the internet can be really large if you choose a large block of land to render. - If any of us try to run the program, we'll have to just do the spawn area for now (it lets you render caves, the nether, everything - you don't want it TOO big on your computer!) If anyone knows how to use it... (I looked at it, but it was talking about creating a .XML, - I have no idea how to run one through command... - If you could create a render of the world that we can upload somewhere - it would be awesome to have a link on the forums (or on the whitelist post) - so everyone can see the awesome stuff we're all building before they even join! -Robert
